Setting Up Courts for Your TournamentAdd courts, auto-assign matches, and reserve finals courts

In this guide: Add and manage tournament courts in Fluid PB—name courts clearly, enable auto-assign for scheduling, reserve courts for medal matches, and attach optional livestream links.

Once courts are added, Fluid PB can use them for:

  • Scheduling matches
  • Displaying courts in Courtside
  • Organizing the Event Planner
  • Managing medal and championship matches

You'll learn how to:

  • Open the Court Configuration page
  • Add and edit courts
  • Name courts for onsite clarity
  • Enable Auto Assign and Medal Matches Only
  • Add livestream links

Overview

The Courts page in Fluid PB is where you add and manage the courts used for your tournament.

Set up courts after your tournament exists and before heavy scheduling—so match assignments, Event Planner, and Courtside all use the same court list. For venue-level court count when creating an event, see Creating a Tournament.

Opening the Courts Page

  1. Open your tournament
  2. Click Court Configuration

Here you'll see all courts currently added to the event.

Adding a Court

To add a new court:

  1. Click Add New Court
  2. Enter a court name
  3. Configure any optional settings
  4. Click Add Court

Naming Your Courts

Each court should have a clear name that players and staff can easily identify onsite.

Examples:

  • Court 1
  • Court 2
  • Center Court
  • Championship Court

Using simple court names helps avoid confusion during match play.

Auto Assign

When Auto Assign is enabled, Fluid PB can automatically place matches onto that court during scheduling.

This is recommended for most courts because it helps tournaments run more smoothly and reduces manual work.

Medal Matches Only

Enable Medal Matches Only if you want to reserve a court for:

  • Gold medal matches
  • Bronze medal matches
  • Finals
  • Featured matches

This is commonly used for:

  • Championship courts
  • Livestream courts
  • Main spectator courts

When enabled, regular matches will not be scheduled there.

You can optionally add a livestream URL to a court.

This is useful if you are streaming matches on:

  • YouTube
  • Facebook Live
  • Vimeo
  • Other livestream platforms

Configure livestream courts before tournament day so staff and spectators have links ready for featured matches.

Editing Courts

You can update courts at any time during the tournament.

Common updates include:

  • Renaming a court
  • Turning Auto Assign on or off
  • Updating livestream links
  • Reserving courts for medal matches

Changes apply across scheduling, Event Planner, and Courtside for the event.

Tips for Organizers

Keep court names simple

Players should be able to quickly find their assigned court. Avoid abbreviations or duplicate names that cause confusion onsite.

Reserve a main court for finals

If your event has spectators or livestreams, reserve one court for championship matches using Medal Matches Only. Add a livestream URL on that court when you have one.

Enable Auto Assign on most courts

This makes scheduling faster and helps keep matches moving throughout the event. Disable auto-assign—or use Medal Matches Only—only on courts you want to hold for finals or showcase play.

After courts exist, use Event Planner to schedule divisions and adjust how many courts each bracket can use.
