Understanding Pool Standings

Pool standings update in real time based on submitted match results.

Standings columns

  • Wins — Total matches won
  • Losses — Total matches lost
  • PE — Points earned
  • PA — Points against
  • PD — Point differential
  • PD % — Point differential percentage

Fluid uses these values for pool rankings, tiebreakers, and playoff seeding. See How Playoffs Are Seeded for how tiebreakers and advancement rules apply after pool play.

Pool game formats

Each pool displays its configured game format, such as:

  • First to 11 win by 2
  • Best 2 out of 3
  • Rally scoring formats

Make sure submitted scores match the format configured when you created the bracket.

Updating Scores in Playoffs

Navigate to Playoffs

  1. Open the bracket division
  2. Click the Playoff tab
  3. Locate the playoff match
  4. Click Update Score

Playoff scores can be updated directly from the bracket view.

Playoff match features

The Playoff view supports:

  • Round of 16 matches
  • Quarter Finals
  • Semi Finals
  • Finals
  • Bronze matches

After submitting a playoff score:

  • Winners automatically advance
  • Bracket progression updates instantly
  • Final standings update automatically

Multi-game match formats

Some playoff matches use multi-game formats, such as:

  • Best 2 out of 3
  • Best 3 out of 5

Enter each game score in order before submitting the final result.

Example

TeamGame 1Game 2Game 3
Team A91111
Team B1182

DUPR Match Reporting

If DUPR integration is enabled on the bracket (see Creating Brackets for DUPR Recorded and DUPR Enforced):

  • Completed matches may display a DUPR Match ID
  • Scores may automatically report to DUPR
  • Match IDs can be used for verification and tracking

Some match windows also include a DUPR Recorded checkbox so you can exclude individual matches from reporting (for example, unofficial or test scores).

Always verify before submitting:

  • Correct teams
  • Correct final score
  • Correct match format
  • DUPR Recorded status (when shown)

Updating Existing Scores

Completed matches can still be edited.

  1. Locate the completed match (in Pools or Playoff)
  2. Click Update Score
  3. Edit the scores
  4. Click Submit

Standings and playoff progression recalculate automatically.

Correcting pool scores can change point differential, tiebreakers, and playoff seed positions—double-check results before playoffs begin.

Resetting Matches

Use Reset Match to completely clear a submitted result.

Resetting a match:

  • Removes the recorded score
  • Reopens the match
  • Removes the winner
  • Recalculates standings automatically

Use reset when you need to clear the result entirely—not when a simple score correction will do.

Important Notes

Pool changes can affect playoffs

Updating pool scores after playoffs begin may:

  • Change playoff seeding
  • Change bracket advancement
  • Affect final standings

Always verify pool results before starting playoffs.

Where do I submit scores for pool play and playoffs?

Open your tournament, select the bracket division, and open Pools or Playoff. Find the match and click Update Score to enter and submit results.

What do pool standings columns mean (PE, PA, PD)?

Wins and Losses count match results. PE is points earned, PA is points against, PD is point differential, and PD % is point differential percentage. Fluid uses these for pool rankings, tiebreakers, and playoff seeding.

What does Reset Match do?

Reset Match clears the submitted score, reopens the match, removes the recorded winner, and recalculates standings and playoff progression automatically.

Can I edit a score after it is submitted?

Yes. Locate the completed match, click Update Score, edit the scores, and click Submit. Standings, seeding, and playoff advancement recalculate automatically.

Why is my DUPR match not reporting?

Verify DUPR integration is enabled on the bracket, players have linked DUPR accounts, and the final score was submitted correctly. Completed matches may show a DUPR Match ID for verification.
